May Update

After the first weekend of May was ruined for Oklahoma micro racers with spring rains and floods throughout the state, the second weekend of May proved to be a very exciting time for many in the FACTOR 1 family of racers in Oklahoma, Missouri, Indiana, and Texas..

At Port City Raceway in the Sportsman class Josiah McGinnis scored a second place finish in the A feature after a win in his heat race.
In the restrictor class it was "The Hurricane" Hannah Adair finishing on top after getting dropped to the back in the opening laps of the feature. That's two A feature wins in 09 with many more to come.
Frank Flud was the first to take the checkers in the  Multi A feature plus a win in his heat race.

Will Rogers Raceway turned out to be just the place for the up and coming Tyler Thomas to showcase his talents with an A feature win in restrictor action Friday and Saturday. Friday night Tyler took the lead with only a couple of circuts completed in the race and kept the lead until the checkers flew. Saturday night was much the same with Tyler checking out early on , he was able to hold onto a commanding lead despite multiple cautions throughout the A feature.

Down the turnpike in OKC Factor 1 customers also took advantage of the break in the wet weather.
The Restrictor A feature started with Justin "Bob" Fletcher beginning the race in the sixteenth position, but  with his determination and a rocketship setup from his dad and crew, Bob was able to pilot his machine to the front and capture his second A feature win of 2009.
Brent Venable gave an impressive performance with a win in the "A-class" and a runner up finish in the Limited class A features.

At our neighbors to the north, it was the young Iowan Christopher Martin earning his first A feature win in 600cc competition, claiming the Restrictor A feature win at Sweet Springs, Missouri on Saturday night.
Jake Brewer from Missouri won this weekend at Charleston, IL and had a win 2 weeks ago at Will Rogers Raceway.
Halen Shafer from Kokomo, IN moved up to the Multi class this year, and has a very impressive start. He
has won the last 3 features. This young teenager has won 36 A Feature races since
he has began running the Micros.  In the last 10 years he has won a total of 85 A features.

Congratulations to all of our customers on a job well done this year.
